900 West to Jordan River Parkway

May 25th 2022 Update: Funding has been secured and the project is going forward. PRATT is planning on a mid-2023 completion date.

EXCITING NEWS: PRATT and its partners have been able to secure funding necessary to complete the last major section of the trail!!! With the help of Salt Lake County, State Senator Gene Davis and the 2021 Utah Legislature, the Trail from 900 West to the Jordan River, with a dedicated bridge at 900 West, will be out to bid any day now with construction to begin soon. Stay tuned for a ribbon cutting!!!Parley’s Trail will provide a safe route for bicyclists and pedestrians to cross the challenging surface barriers between the Provo-Jordan River Parkway and the S-Line Streetcar Greenway.  Several obstacles separate  the Jordan River from 300 West St. These include the 900 West freeway interchange, the Roper Rail Yard, and the junction of Interstates 15 & 80 and Highway 201, an area known locally as “The Spaghetti Bowl.”

Until the final section of Parley’s is complete, there are multiple options to connect to the Jordan River Parkway. After arriving at 900 West, you may travel a half mile south to cross at one of the Olympic bridges. There is not a place to cross the very busy 900 street, so proceed with caution. An alternative is to travel north to 2100 south and connect with the bike lane that will direct you west to the JRP (approximately 1 mile).
